Originally developed to provide a place to offer local treatment options for our patients in need of cancer treatments, the “Rose Room” has grown to provide a multitude of outpatient treatment options. Our Outpatient Treatment rooms provides treatments such as, but not limited to, short and long term antibiotic therapy, blood and blood product transfusions, medication injections, management of disease such as Rheumatoid Arthritis, Osteoporosis, Multiple Sclerosis, Crohn’s disease, cancer treatments, as well as other medical procedures (i.e. foley catheter placement/changes, wound care, dressing changes).
Outpatient treatment services offers the convenience of disconnecting continuous chemotherapy infusions initiated by other oncology providers. This allows local patients to return home for the duration of their chemotherapy treatment and saves them a return trip to their oncology provider for the disconnect procedure. Our nurses are also trained in central line care and can provide routine services such as flushing of port-a-caths and PICC lines.
In addition to providing hands on nursing care, outpatient therapy staff are able to offer teaching and reassurances to patients undergoing treatments. A wide range of teaching material is available.
The Outpatient Treatment rooms is regularly staffed Monday through Friday 8am-4pm, however in their absence services can be provided after hours if medically necessary. If you, your family, or your provider have any questions regarding services please call 207-454-9315.
