The Calais Community Hospital Laboratory is a full-service, CLIA-certified clinical laboratory dedicated to providing accurate, timely, and compassionate diagnostic services. We operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to support emergency, inpatient and surgical care while offering convenient outpatient laboratory services.
Each year, our laboratory performs more than 210,000 diagnostic tests.
As an integral part of Calais Community Hospital, we are proud to provide high-quality laboratory services close to home. By performing the majority of testing on-site, we help patients throughout our region receive timely, reliable diagnostic care without unnecessary travel whenever possible.
Using advanced laboratory technology and integrated electronic medical record systems, we perform the majority of laboratory testing on-site, providing timely results that support prompt diagnosis and treatment 24 hours a day. Specialized testing that cannot be performed on-site is referred to our trusted laboratory partner, Quest Diagnostics, ensuring patients have access to a full spectrum of advanced diagnostic services.

Monday–Friday: 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Saturday: 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Sunday & Holidays: Closed

Education & Partnerships
The Calais Community Hospital Laboratory is proud to support the education of future laboratory professionals through our affiliation with the University of Maine at Presque Isle Medical Laboratory Technology Program.
We also partner with Quest Diagnostics, Dahl-Chase Pathology Associates, and the American Red Cross to provide comprehensive laboratory and transfusion services.
